Dr. Swarnalakshmi Umamaheswaran holds a Ph.D. in policy studies from the TERI school of advanced studies and a masters in economics from Avinashilingam Demmed Unversity. Dr.Swarnalakshmi’s doctoral research proposal was funded by HSBC under the low carbon growth category .She was also a visiting scholar at freie universität berlin as part of the DAAD funded research exchange program.Dr.Swarna has published research papers in international journals and conferences. Prior to her PhD, she spent a decade in business analytics roles in the corporate sector .During her corporate stint she specialized in predictive modeling and implemented data driven strategies in banking and marketing domains.As an individual Dr.Swarna is enthusiastic about data and problem-solving. She is a strong advocate of data democracy and believes that technology should be accessible to all.As a faculty and trainer, her approach is to deliver analytics and data science in an approachable way. Her research interests are in information systems and computational social sciences
