Dr. Parvathi Jayaprakash

Assistant Professor

Dr. Parvathi Jayaprakash holds a doctorate in Management Information Systems from the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode and was a post-doctoral research fellow in Public Policy at the Centre for Society and Policy, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. She has over 7 years of research experience in exploring the nuances of technological effects on society and has also been involved closely to understand the policy perspectives of the same.  She has worked on government-funded projects involving open data platforms, public health systems, sustainable development goals, and environment-friendly technologies. Her research has gained appreciation from eminent scholars from renowned national and international organizations, and it has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at international and national conferences. Dr. Jayaprakash’s areas of research focus on the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) for sustainable development, data policy, the impact of ICT on social initiatives, and green ICT and systems. Her teaching interests are business analytics, spreadsheet modelling, e-commerce analytics, and marketing analytics. She has also received recognition and awards for her project proposals on using ICT to address social issues. Dr. Jayaprakash has also worked as an assistant professor at the Jagdish Sheth School of Management and has professional experience as a system engineer with Tata Consultancy Services. She is a rank holder in Telecommunication Engineering stream from Visvesvaraya Technological University.
